Aerostructures and Systems
With the capabilities of an aircraft manufacturer, our ability to engineer and fabricate complete aircraft structures and systems enables us to also offer solutions providing OEM post-line fitment modifications for retrofitting and upgrades, as well as volume build products for production line fit. Our solutions are supported by extensive facilities, including workshops, assembly lines and hangar space, boosted by outstanding expertise in composites from Marshall Slingsby Advanced Composites.

    Our aerostructures & systems capabilities:

  • Complete programme and project management of aircraft system modifications and upgrades, from design to production, plus quality control testing, certification and operations
  • Composites expertise includes materials design, production, testing and certification across civil and defence sectors in a huge range of military and civil applications
  • Expertise in high performance composites through our wholly owned subsidiary, Marshall Slingsby Advanced Composites
  • Existing programmes in the design and production of auxiliary fuel tanks, in-flight refuelling probes, fuel tank inerting systems and engine nacelles
  • Bespoke fabrication of components, with volume manufacturing capacity and complete supply chain management for outsourced sub-assembly production
  • Extensive OEM approvals, including BAE Systems, GE Aviation, Lockheed Martin, Rolls-Royce, Airbus, AgustaWestland, Thales, Honeywell Aerospace, Boeing, Siemens, Embraer, Gulfstream and Raytheon

We focus on the design and assembly of complex structures for civil and military aircraft. With the addition of Marshall Slingsby Advanced Composites, we also operate in the marine, industrial and transport sectors. In addition to the extensive aerospace facilities in Cambridge, our composites manufacturing site in North Yorkshire of 50,000m2 includes custom built end-to-end facilities for total composite material component design, build and manufacture.

Aerostructures and systems at Marshall Aerospace and Marshall Slingsby Advanced Composites provide you with benefits, which include:

  • Aerostructures solutions in fuel tanks, refuelling and engine components, including certification across all jurisdictions and extensive modification, build and test facilities
  • Composite solutions in aerospace that include pilot helmet structures, UAV primary flight control surfaces and complete airframes, cockpit and airframe panelling, nosecones and trim panels
  • Composites solutions in large naval surface and subsurface marine structures, including components for the Astute Class Submarines and gunshields for Type 45 Destroyers.
